What is Big-Data Geomatics?

Geomatics, also known as geospatial technology, is the science of generating geographic information. Geostellar has developed a core technology called Big-Data Geomatics that crunches huge amounts of data to bring you information about individual property addresses.

Geostellar’s new approach is the only scientific methodology in the market that allows you to get a free, instant and independent assessment of the solar potential of your property with a high degree of accuracy. First, our predictive algorithms crunch the energy production potential of the property by looking at average incident solar radiation or “insolation”; size, orientation and slope of the roof; multiple levels of terrain mapping that show vegetation, structures and terrain that cast shade; day and night average high and low temperatures; average weather and cloud cover; and rainfall and dust and dirt estimates. Geostallar uses 3D modeling to instantly assess the site’s output over a year. Then, relevant financial data are figured in, including local electricity rates, renewable energy incentives at that address, feed-in tariffs and other local policy elements.

The result of this fast-evolving discipline is an instant answer, generated via remote viewing, that qualifies a property according to its solar generating potential, the savings in electric bills, and the carbon emissions that would be averted. Other applications of Big-Data Geomatics will address other renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, and other economic and social conditions to find the best ways to create greener, more conscious, and more luxurious communities.
